Meet Our Team

With decades of experience as therapists and teachers, our team leads with compassion, understanding, and heart. None of us come from business or finance—we’re simply people who’ve dedicated our careers to supporting children and families, and that purpose guides every decision we make.

  • Mariah Biscan, M.A., BCBA
    Mariah Biscan
    Founder & BCBA

Mariah brings over a decade of experience serving children and families as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She previously served as a Clinical Director for a well-known ABA organization throughout the Chicagoland area.

Through her work, Mariah gained firsthand insight into the challenges of large, clinic-based ABA models, where decisions are often driven by growth and revenue rather than what is best for families. These experiences shaped her belief that therapy should always prioritize children and families first.

Mariah firmly believes that in-home ABA therapy leads to more meaningful and lasting outcomes than clinic-based care. She is committed to providing the highest quality ABA services exclusively through the in-home model, even knowing this approach is less profitable than traditional clinic settings. Her goal is to build the best, not the biggest.

At Believing Is Achieving, Mariah is intentional about doing things differently—keeping care family-centered, building close relationships with families, respecting their time, and never recommending excessive therapy hours simply because insurance allows it. She remains committed to being an in-home-only provider so families can trust that care decisions are always made with their best interests in mind.

  • Angela Headshot
    Angela Pajcini
Director of Service Quality and Compliance & BCBA

Angela Pajcini is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with extensive experience serving children and families across a variety of care settings. She previously served as the Director of ABA Services at a well-established ABA organization, where she led clinical teams and supported the delivery of comprehensive, individualized treatment services.

Through her leadership experience, Angela gained firsthand insight into how organizational models and clinical decision-making impact family outcomes. These experiences shaped her belief that ABA therapy should always be intentional, individualized, and centered on the real-life needs of children and their families.

Angela is known for her warm, hands-on leadership style and her commitment to thoughtful, family-centered care. She works closely with clinicians and families to ensure services are collaborative, evidence-based, and focused on meaningful, functional progress that supports long-term success.

Angela earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Post-Master’s Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis and remains dedicated to ongoing professional growth. She strongly believes that in-home ABA therapy allows for the most natural learning, stronger family involvement, and more meaningful outcomes. Angela is committed to providing high-quality, in-home services that respect family routines, prioritize relationships, and place the child and family at the center of every clinical decision.

    Michael Zagurski
Director of Operations / Special Education LBS1

Michael is the Director of Operations at Believing Is Achieving, where he works closely with families and team members to ensure thoughtful, high-quality care.

He previously spent several years as a Special Education Teacher in the Naperville school district, leading life skills classrooms, taking students out into the community weekly, and seeing firsthand the frustrations families often face when advocating for their child’s needs during the IEP process. Those experiences continue to guide his family-centered approach.

Michael also has experience providing one-to-one in-home therapy and remains actively involved in the field, continuing to work directly with children today. Staying hands-on allows him to better understand each family’s journey and support meaningful progress.
